FACTORY PERFORMANCE TEST ON KTK TURBOCOR CHILLER WITH R513A LOW GWP REFRIGERANT

FACTORY PERFORMANCE TEST ON KTK TURBOCOR CHILLER WITH R513A LOW GWP REFRIGERANT

Despite the uncertainty of this year 2020, performance tests never stop at our testing labs. And yes, we are very glad about it. During the last hot week of August, a witness test on a KTK unit was successfully carried out at our testing labs.

Climatic Chamber

G.I. Holding has allocated important resources for building an advanced Climatic Chamber on its Rivignano Teor (UD – Italy) factory. In this new lab, witness tests can be performed both in the presence of the Customer and in live streaming.

The aim is to prove the perfect functionality and performance of different units under a huge variety of operating conditions as well as to perform tests on prototypes for internal R&D purposes to test mechanical, electrical, electronic components and control systems during Chillers development.

The star of the test: KTK liquid Chiller

The main character was a Water Cooled liquid Chiller, KTK branded, model TWH/DR 581 TT/J.

This specific model belongs to the Turboline range, which is at the top level in energy efficiency. Turboline machines features the highest EER and SEER/ESEER in the market and the low starting current, in addition to maximum reliability and extra silent operation.

This customised unit, commissioned for a HVAC residential application, features:

- Turbocor compressors;

-Exchangers in a vivid green colour, a tailor-made colour, helping to focus on our leading-edge sustainable solution;

-R513A, low GWP / A1 Class refrigerant.

R513A refrigerant

The care of the environment, new energy sources, eco-friendly and green solutions are more and more important in the past years.

R513A is safe and highly performing low-GWP, and non-ozone depleting refrigerant. Based on hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO), it is perfect to replace R134a. Its energy efficiency and capacity in fact match those for R134a, allowing to operate safely with a significantly reduced environmental impact.

The GWP (global warming potential) of this refrigerant is 573 (compared to 1300 for R134a), while ODP (ozone depletion potential) is 0, it has no impact on ozone. R513A, A1 class refrigerant is non-flammable and non-toxic.

It can be applied in a wide range of application, such as Heat Pumps, liquid Chillers and Multifunctional Units.
